P. Viou Super XL Smooth Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, French Estates

P. Viou pipes were originally made by Paul Viou, an early French artisan working around the early to mid-20th century. The P. Viou trademark was, however, later acquired by various major French pipe companies, including Vuillard and Genod. I have a feeling this one will be from Genod, as it is an excellent piece and a real achievement given its size (the Genod workshop, after all, has about 150 years of accumulated expertise in pipe making). Taking the form of either a magnum-sized or, at the very least, a semi-giant Dunhill ODA sized billiard, it’s not wanting for good briar—nor, indeed, for chamber capacity. The condition is fair.
